The Cabin in Chesterfield

Did you know that the land for the cemetary in Chesterfield was donated by James Henry and Ruth Call Davids?????
Dad spent some time cleaning up the graves and making them look a lot nicer! Jaden and Colton helped him out by planting some flowers.

The cabin as it looked Memorial Day weekend. They work on it the first weekend of every month.

We saw Jonelle and her husband at the cabin. I am the tallest one in the picture...kinda sad, huh?

Mom outside the cabin door.

A view from the driveway on the southeast side. The back room has a sod roof.

The front view. The outside is almost done. The roof is 95% done and they are starting the inside now. The back room has a dirt floor and they are installing a wood floor in the rest of the house. It is coming along quite nicely.

A view from the canal. It's bigger than I thought it would be.

A closer view from the southwest side.

Darren and I were able to be a part of our Youth Conference trek this year to the Chesterfield area. We did a service project on some ground that was owned by Juanita Davids. It was fun. The kids in our family were told all about Darren's ancestors there. They all thought it was pretty cool. Darren and I went in the cabin and the floor looked like it was ready for the wood flooring to be installed. We were there the last weekend of June. We too went to the cemetery and cleaned up a little around the family headstones. It was a great experience for both of us.
